Patient Preferences Regarding Inpatient Mental Health Group Participation: A Mixed-Methods Study
Abstract
This study investigates patient preferences for group program invitations within an inpatient mental health setting. While recovery-oriented groups are a staple of inpatient care, engagement often remains low. This research utilises a mixed-methods approach to determine if patients prefer active, individual invitations from facilitators and explores how demographic factors, self-efficacy, empowerment, and personal responsibility influence these preferences. Findings will inform person-centred service delivery aligned with recovery principles.
