Stylometric Analysis of Book of Mormon Narrator Voices: Function-Word Classification with Translation-Layer Calibration
Abstract
This study uses function-word stylometry to test whether claimed narrator voices in the Book of Mormon exhibit detectably different writing styles. The analysis employs run-weighted balanced accuracy with restricted group-level permutation testing to address the small effective sample size (N=14 voice runs). A parallel analysis of Constance Garnett's translations of Russian literature calibrates whether authorial signal survives single-translator mediation.
