Abstract

The misplacement of nasogastric tube (NGT) is classified as a never event and the utlisation of radiographer image interpretation could be beneficial in the safety of NGT position. This study aims to observe the utilisation of radiographer interpretation in nasogastric tube safety, its impact on patient safety and experience, and the factors impacting the implementation of a radiographer-led pathway on NGT safety confirmation. An integrative review is chosen as the method to include studies across different methodologies in this newly emerged research area. This study aims to draw a summary of existing literature on the research question, critically appraise the quality of the evidence, and compare the outcomes.
