Directed Energy, Sub-Threshold Electromagnetic Events, and Neurological Health in Blast-Exposed Marine Corps Personnel
Abstract
Blast-exposed Marine Corps personnel present with Operator Syndrome (OS) - a constellation of cognitive difficulties, hyperacusis, vestibular dysregulation, autonomic instability, sleep architecture disruption, and multi-system physical symptoms without explanatory lesion on standard neuroimaging. This white paper argues that the missing variable in Operator Syndrome is G6PD enzyme activity. Sub-threshold electromagnetic events - radar, avionics testing, electronic warfare training, IED blast oxidative wave - do not produce uniform neurological damage across a platoon. They produce severity-stratified damage in proportion to each individual's NADPH buffering capacity. At Jeremy Ryan Thompson's documented G6PD-Canton activity of 1.48% of normal enzyme function, every sub-threshold electromagnetic or blast oxidative event is above biological threshold. The paper documents five-year aviation maintenance EMF exposure history (HMLA-169), Sangin Helmand Province IED blast exposure (OEF 10.2, 2014), and titanium implant specific absorption rate amplification in the dominant right hand as compounding occupational variables unaccounted for in standard neurological assessment. A 35-month medication-free stability record (January 2023 - April 2026) following withdrawal of VA-prescribed oxidant medications - documented hemolytic agents in G6PD-deficient individuals - is presented as pathognomonic evidence of G6PD-mediated oxidative cascade rather than primary psychiatric disorder. The BEMDEC (Bio-Electromagnetic Deficiency-Exposure Correlation) protocol is proposed as a corrective study design for directed energy health research. Institutional actions proposed include pre-deployment G6PD screening, VA disability reclassification, and removal of psychiatric diagnoses inconsistent with G6PD-Canton biochemistry. The paper is framed within a Western-Eastern-Shamanic three-axis framework with Cherokee ethnoscientist positionality as interpretive context.
