Feature overlap in selective manual stopping
Abstract
Selective stopping is required when one of several components of a multicomponent motor activity has to be stopped briefly before execution, while the other component has to be executed. We conjecture that the type and degree of feature overlap between stopped and continued action components shapes the potential to generate these activities in case no stopping is required, as well as the potential to selectively stop one of these components.
