The Omegaon Model: A phenomenological framework for non-singular gravitational collapse, bounces, and information-preserving cosmology.
Abstract
The Omegaon Model is a theoretical framework in gravitational physics and cosmology that investigates the possibility that spacetime singularities predicted by classical general relativity are replaced by a finite-density, non-singular transition. The model explores how gravitational collapse—such as that occurring inside black holes or in early-universe cosmology—can undergo a smooth collapse–bounce–expansion sequence rather than terminating in a singularity. The framework is constructed within standard general relativity, supplemented by an effective high-density energy sector that enforces bounded curvature and energy density at extreme scales. This sector is treated phenomenologically, without specifying a detailed microphysical origin, and is designed to capture unknown quantum-gravitational or high-energy effects while preserving classical behaviour away from the bounce. A central feature of the model is the emergence of a transient negative-pressure (dark-energy–like) effective equation of state at extreme density. This behaviour dynamically halts collapse, induces a non-singular bounce, and allows expansion to proceed smoothly. No fundamental cosmological constant or ad hoc scalar field is introduced. The Omegaon programme proceeds in stages: Background dynamics demonstrate finite, non-singular evolution and robustness under anisotropy and spin-induced shear. Perturbative analyses show that linear scalar and tensor perturbations propagate consistently across the bounce. Gauge-invariant treatments establish that the bounce acts as a finite scattering event, preserving information across contraction and expansion. The model is not intended as a complete theory of quantum gravity, nor does it make direct observational claims. Instead, it aims to establish internal consistency, dynamical realism, and perturbative viability for non-singular cosmological and black-hole interior scenarios. This OSF project serves as an open research record for the development, consolidation, and documentation of the Omegaon Model, including numerical studies, analytical results, and supporting materials.
