Abstract

This project will examine the relationships nostalgic, present, and anticipated GRD have with support for progressive (e.g., anti-racism) and reactionary (e.g., anti-immigration) causes among White Australians/Europeans. A secondary aim will be to understand if the relationships between different forms of relative deprivation and these causes are explained by perceived breakdowns in leadership and social norms (i.e., anomie). Taken together, this research will help to identify how and why different temporal forms of GRD contribute to progressive and reactionary social change.
