Time Cost of Sport Participation for People with Disability: A Scoping Review
Abstract
Despite time being consistently identified as an impacting factor to physical activity participation for people with disability, the specific time cost, in both scope and context, are largely assumed and not well understood. This scoping review aims to comprehensively and systematically identify, map, and synthesise available evidence on the time cost associated with sport participation, to inform practice, policy, and future research directions. This review will provide the first consolidated understanding of the time-related demands of sport participation for people with disability, an under-recognised yet potentially influential barrier shaping participation and equity in access.
