Policy monitoring indexes targeting non-communicable diseases: a scoping review protocol
Abstract
The proposed review will examine policy monitoring indexes that target the four major NCDs i.e. cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and/or their key behavioural risk factors, namely tobacco use, harmful alcohol consumption, unhealthy diets and physical inactivity. The review will assess if, and how, included indexes address social inequalities. Based on the review findings, we will identify gaps in existing monitoring approaches and propose areas for improvement.
