Characteristics of interventions using barefoot and minimalist footwear in older adults: A scoping review protocol
Abstract
This is a scoping review protocol that aims to map the characteristics of interventions utilizing barefoot and minimalist footwear in older adults. Given that aging-related foot degeneration compromises stability, understanding these interventions is critical for future clinical practice. Specifically, this review will examine the technical specifications of minimalist footwear, intervention components, outcomes and safety profiles, as well as the context and professional supervision of these programs reported in the literature.
