Abstract

This study examines how medical decision situations are evaluated in the context of AI-assisted decision support. Using an anonymous online survey, participants are presented with a series of medical dilemma scenarios and asked to rate the acceptability of the depicted decisions as well as to attribute responsibility for these decisions. The study includes both somatic and mental health contexts and covers different types of medical dilemmas. The sample consists of medical students and psychology or psychotherapy students. Study materials are presented in German. The aim of the study is to contribute to a better understanding of how AI-assisted medical decisions are perceived and evaluated, particularly with regard to acceptability and responsibility attribution.
