Abstract

The primary goal of this study is to further assess the psychometric validity of our 16-item Identity-Safety Scale using confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) with Black and White employed American women. Our 16-item scale assesses the four components of identity-safety: fairness, trust, belonging, and authenticity. In a prior study using undergraduate students, we found that a four-factor model was significantly better than all other models and showed excellent fit. Thus, in order to validate a generalized identity-safety scale applicable across different contexts (e.g., universities, workplaces, etc.), we aim to validate the scale in a new context – workplace settings.
