Abstract
We propose a simple but powerful equation describing the evolution of energy over time: Q=Utou2 where Q represents the total energy of a system (including dark energy or vacuum energy), U is a characteristic energy acceleration, and tou is the relevant timescale. We derive the time evolution, instantaneous power, and energy acceleration associated with this relation. Applying the model to cosmological dark energy, we obtain numerical estimates consistent with observed energy densities and make testable predictions regarding energy growth and power over cosmic time.
