Abstract

The RIVOT is a tool used to collect data on the implementation of reading instruction. It includes forced (via dropdown menu) and open-answer responses to determine the presence of several elements of explicit reading instruction across all five components of reading (phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and reading comprehension). The tool also includes opportunities to examine teacher knowledge and lesson quality.
