Position-Independent Ribosomal Differential Sensing Hypothesis (PI-RDS)
Abstract
The goal of this project is to formally document and establish scientific priority for a novel, testable hypothesis in molecular biology: that ribosomal elongation rate depends not only on the absolute properties of a codon, but also on the local rate of change (Δ) in these properties relative to the immediately preceding codon position — independent of sequence position or gene length. The expected outcome is a citable, timestamped record of this hypothesis in its finalized form, along with a proposed methodology for testing it against existing ribosome profiling (Ribo-seq) datasets.
