Abstract

This project is a scoping review designed to examine and summarize the use of Novel Approach Methodologies (NAMs) for modeling the dental pulp–dentin complex. The review aims to map the range of experimental models and techniques currently used as alternatives to traditional animal and conventional in vitro methods in pulp biology and regenerative endodontics. A systematic search of multiple databases will be conducted, and studies will be selected and analyzed following PRISMA-ScR guidelines. The project aims to identify how NAMs are being applied, what outcomes they assess, and where gaps remain in the literature. The expected outcome is a comprehensive overview that will inform future research directions and support the development of more effective and human-relevant experimental models.
