Abstract

To facilitate adequate citation practices, we find it relevant that authors and journal editors have access to a summary of what peers consider adequate citation practices in clinical research. Thus, we will conduct an interview study exploring the views and reflections of authors of clinical research papers, and clinical journal editors, about adequate citation practices. The interview study, in combination with our scoping review, will provide empirical foundation for our planned guideline for adequate citation practice in clinical research. We aim to characterise and analyse the views and reflections of authors of clinical research papers and clinical journal editors regarding adequate citation practices.
