Abstract

In the context of the EUCanScreen JA, work package (WP) 9 is exploring the possibility of implementing risk-stratified approaches in existing and new screening programmes. The WP is organised into seven tasks: three on topics common to all screening programmes and four cancer-specific tasks. Task 9.2 aims to define a common conceptual framework for risk-based screening and identify common steps that the cancer-specific tasks should take to finalise the common deliverables. The cancer-specific tasks have been requested to conduct a scoping review, hold expert consultations, and analyse the WP9 survey results in order to identify putative risk stratifiers, models or tools used for risk stratification and risk grouping, and modifications to screening protocols used or proposed for use. Thus, within task 9.3, a protocol for a scoping review should be developed that takes into account the specificities of risk-based cervical cancer screening.
