Controlled Comparison of Acoustic vs. Silent EVP Elicitation Methods
Abstract
This study compares two Electronic Voice Phenomenon (EVP) elicitation methods: 1. Acoustic: pre-recorded questions played externally to a shielded booth 2. Silent: timestamp-only markers with no acoustic stimulus Primary outcome: Difference in anomalous audio event rates between conditions. Secondary: Temporal correlation and semantic relevance analysis. Design: 200 sessions (100 per condition), triple-blind analysis. This registration includes supplemental materials: 1. Detailed Analysis Plan (PDF) 2. Equipment Specifications (PDF) 3. Ethics Statement (PDF) 4. Additional protocol documents All materials available in the Files section of this project.
