Antibacterial and Antibiofilm Activity of Iron Oxide Nanopar-ticles: An Integrative Systematic Review
Abstract
This integrative systematic review evaluates the antibacterial and antibiofilm activity of iron oxide nanoparticles. A systematic search was conducted in PubMed (National Library of Medicine), Web of Science, BVS (Virtual Health Library), LILACS, and Redalyc, and studies were selected based on predefined criteria. The review was conducted following PRISMA guidelines, and data on antibiofilm activity and synergism with antibiotics were extracted and synthesized qualitatively. The review aims to summarize current evidence, identify gaps, and guide future research in this field.
