Thymomodulin in Animals - Scoping Review (2000-2025)
Abstract
Thymomodulin is a calf thymus–derived peptide extract with reported immunomodulatory properties across experimental and veterinary contexts. Evidence in non-human animals is dispersed across species and study designs, and its potential relevance to One Health (e.g., reduced pathogen circulation and reduced antimicrobial reliance) is frequently inferential. This scoping review aims to map and describe the available evidence on thymomodulin (and comparable calf thymus extracts) in non-human animals.
