Abstract

This project is a qualitative systematic review examining the integration of Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in trauma treatment with adults. The review synthesizes qualitative and case-based literature to explore therapeutic processes, safety considerations, and conditions for integration. Due to the limited EFT–EMDR literature, studies integrating EMDR with other attachment-based approaches were included to inform attachment-informed integration while maintaining EFT–EMDR as the primary conceptual focus.
