Influence of emotions and stress on memory conformity
Abstract
Memory conformity is influenced by social and situational factors, yet the role of stress and emotional content remains unclear. This study examines how emotional valence of visual stimuli, acute stress, and chronic stress contribute to memory conformity. Participants complete a recognition task and a memory conformity task involving emotionally valenced images, with acute stress experimentally induced via a cold pressor test and chronic stress assessed using STRAIN. Cortisol and subjective stress are measured to index stress responses.
