Understanding the Mental Health of Black Immigrant Emerging Adults in the United States and Canada: A Scoping Review Protocol
Abstract
This project outlines the preregistered protocol for a scoping review examining the mental health outcomes, correlates, and theoretical framings of Black immigrant emerging adults (ages 18–29) in the United States and Canada. The review will map existing empirical literature using PRISMA-ScR guidelines to identify study characteristics, immigration-related variables, and conceptual gaps in the field. Findings are intended to inform future research, culturally responsive interventions, and policy discussions relevant to Black immigrant communities.
