Health Diplomacy in Public Health and Biomedical literature: A Scoping Review of Global Trends and Gaps
Abstract
Health diplomacy has become increasingly important at the intersection of public health, clinical practice, and global governance, particularly in light of recent crises such as the COVID-19 pandemic, vaccine access inequities, and the emergence of zoonotic diseases. Despite its growing relevance, the evidence base on health diplomacy remains fragmented, with limited systematic mapping within the core biomedical and public health literature. This scoping review aims to address this gap by mapping how health diplomacy is represented in indexed health literature, examining publication trends, thematic focus, and methodological approaches. The findings are intended to clarify research priorities and support stronger links between health evidence and diplomatic practice.
