Modulating Social Belief Updating Using Non-Invasive Brain Stimulation: Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS)
Abstract
This study aims to investigate whether anodal focal transcranial direct current stimulation (f-tDCS) applied to the left dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (left DLPFC) enhances belief updating in individuals with social anxiety. Participants will complete an approach/avoid reversal-learning task designed to assess cognitive flexibility and social impression updating while receiving either anodal or sham f-tDCS to the l-dlPFC. The study will examine whether stimulation improves the ability to integrate new social information and facilitates adaptive responses to changing feedback.
