Understanding Symptom Modulating Factors of Post-Psychedelic Complications Following the Use of Classic Psychedelics or Entactogens.
Abstract
The present sub study (sub study 3) focuses specifically on factors that might modulate the post-acute psychological symptoms (PAPS). Its aim is to explore which coping strategies, environmental conditions, and psychological resources might alleviate or exacerbate the symptoms. Participants with a history of distressing perceptual disturbances following psychedelic or entactogen use will be asked to evaluate various strategies that are commonly discussed in clinical or peer-support contexts. Additionally, participants are invited to report their own strategies or contextual factors that they perceive as either helpful or harmful. By systematically gathering these subjective evaluations, this study aims to generate hypotheses about symptom-modulating factors that could inform future clinical recommendations and therapeutic interventions. While causal inferences cannot be drawn, the descriptive and exploratory nature of this work will help identify patterns and trends that can guide subsequent hypothesis-driven research.
