Mapping physiological, functional, and perceptual responses to exercise across menstrual cycle phases in women: a scoping review
Abstract
The menstrual cycle is characterized by hormonal fluctuations across its different phases, which generate significant physiological variations with potential influence on exercise responses in women of reproductive age. In recent years, research interest in this topic has increased; however, the available evidence remains scattered, with marked variability in methodological approaches, types of exercise assessed, and physiological responses analyzed.
