Comparing electromyographic activity, peak force, and near-infrared spectroscopy parameters during maximal effort pushing isometric squat and isometric squat holds at 90° and 120° across different intensities
Abstract
The study aims to compare the EMG, muscle oxygenation (near-infrared spectroscopy), and peak force during pushing versus holding isometric squats. Both pushing and holding isometrics will be performed at 90 degrees and 120 degrees. However, the pushing isometrics will be performed with maximal intent, while the holding isometrics will be performed at 30%, 50% and 70% of the participants' 1RM squat.
