Effects of Viscum album L. Integrative Therapy to Chemotherapy: A Systematic Review

The research question was: “What are the effects of Viscum album associated with chemotherapy treatment?”. The delimited question and search strategy were based on PICOS, an acronym for (P) population - Cell lines, animal models, and cancer patients, (I) intervention - Extracts, mother tincture, or ultradilutions of Viscum album (L.), (C) comparison group - Negative control (no treatment) and positive control (chemotherapy), (O) outcome - Increased survival and/or quality of life, reduction of chemotherapy side effects, or tumor response, and (S) study design - Preclinical and clinical studies.
