The gut microbiota of birds shaped by diet and migration promotes host adaptation
Abstract
Using high-throughput sequencing technology to analyze the composition, diversity, and potential functions of gut microbiota in three feeding habits and two migratory statuses bird taxa. Diet and migration drive the assembly of bird gut microbiota, affecting the composition, structure, and ecological niche of gut microbiota. The gut microbiota of birds can help hosts adapt to food digestion and migration processes.
