Deep Symbolic Stabilization Along the Nile
Abstract
This project applies the Deep Symbolic Systems Model (DSSM) to Egypt’s Nile corridor as a diagnostic test of deep-time symbolic continuity. It examines how symbolic systems—from Upper Paleolithic rock art and Epipaleolithic aggregation sites to Predynastic cemeteries and Dynastic monuments—achieved structural stabilization long before writing or formal administration. Monumentality is treated as a late-stage material externalization of accumulated symbolic load. The study focuses on repetition, spatial constraint, redundancy across media, and resilience under stress, positioning Egypt as a baseline for understanding symbolic persistence and cultural continuity across deep time.
