Abstract

Two reviewers will independently pilot the extraction form on a small sample of included sources (two to three studies) to verify that all necessary data fields are captured and that the form is clear and comprehensive. Any discrepancies will be resolved through discussion or with the involvement of a third reviewer. The following data items will be charted from each included source: title; author(s); country and year of publication; emergency type; model type (e.g., in vivo, in vitro, ex vivo, organoid, cell line, engineered/simulation); species or cell line used; cancer type or model; induction protocol; pathophysiological features reproduced; interventions tested; outcomes measured (primary and secondary); key results; reproducibility elements (e.g., randomization, blinding); translational readiness level (e.g., T0/T1); and funding sources or reported conflicts of interest. The charting process will be iterative, allowing for the addition of unforeseen but relevant data as the review progresses. Any modifications to the charting form will be documented in the final review.
