Biomechanical applications of finite element analysis in orthodontics: A scoping review of force distribution, tooth movement, and mechanical performance
Abstract
A systematic literature search will be conducted in the PubMed and ScienceDirect databases to answer the question: What finite element analysis methodologies have been used to evaluate the biomechanical behavior of orthodontic appliances? The extracted data will be organized according to relevant biomechanical variables, such as appliance type, aligner thickness, material properties, applied forces, and torque conditions.
