Abstract

This systematic literature review synthesizes and evaluates the psychosocial determinants influencing user adherence to mHealth applications for healthy eating published between 2020 and 2026. Following the PRISMA 2020 guidelines, a rigorous multi-database search was conducted across Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar to isolate original empirical studies. Utilizing a Socio-ecological Framework, this study maps individual internal drivers (e.g., self-efficacy, intrinsic motivation), socio-economic and demographic barriers, and technological ecosystem dynamics to provide actionable insights for future digital health interventions, public health policies, and flexible tracking application designs.
