Abstract

This scoping review aims to map and synthesize the existing evidence on the use of artificial intelligence–based decision support tools within nursing education. As AI technologies increasingly influence clinical reasoning and decision‑making processes, understanding how these tools are integrated into educational pathways becomes essential for preparing future nurses. The review will explore the types of AI‑based decision support tools employed, their educational applications, reported outcomes, and the methodological characteristics of the available studies. The review will follow the JBI methodology for scoping reviews (Peters et al., 2020) and will be reported according to the PRISMA‑ScR guidelines (Tricco et al., 2018). A comprehensive search will be conducted across major academic databases, grey literature, and reference lists. Findings will provide an overview of current practices, highlight gaps in the literature, and inform future research and curriculum development in nursing education.
