Abstract

Spirometry has traditionally been limited to children older than 6 years, yet growing evidence suggests that preschool-aged children (3–6 years) can perform technically acceptable forced expiratory maneuvers. The scope of available evidence on feasibility, quality criteria, reference values, and clinical utility in this age group has not been comprehensively mapped.
