Abstract

The LIBRA study sets to explore reasons for patients non-adherence and obtain a greater understanding of patient experience of their radiotherapy treatment in order to inform interventions to promote and facilitate treatment appointment attendance. This rapid review will gain in-depth understanding of previously reported barriers and facilitators to attending daily head and neck cancer radiotherapy treatment. It will also review previously investigated support interventions to encourage adherence to prescribed solid tumour (focus on H&N tumour site) radiotherapy courses. This will provide LIBRA study investigators with a deep understanding of the determinants of radiotherapy attendance which will help to guide future co-developed radiotherapy support intervention. Rapid review will: • Identify relevant work with quality assessment of literature • Summarise evidence (tabulate characteristics) • Interpret findings/bias/ heterogeneity etc
