[Book] Foundations of Quantitative Social Science Research
Abstract
This project hosts the development materials, teaching resources, and supplementary content for the book "Foundations of Quantitative Social Science Research." The book provides a comprehensive introduction to quantitative research methodology in social sciences, bridging classical research design principles with modern computational approaches. It is designed for graduate students and researchers who seek to develop rigorous quantitative research skills. Key topics include: research design fundamentals (operationalization, measurement, conceptual frameworks), quantitative methods (statistical analysis, experimental and observational designs), computational approaches (integration of modern tools in social science research), reproducibility and open science practices, and systematic literature review methodologies. This OSF project contains teaching materials, code examples, datasets, and other resources that accompany the book. All materials are shared to promote transparency, reproducibility, and open educational practices in quantitative social science research. The open source code and materials are available on GitHub: https://github.com/wwwwanhonghuang/Books-Foundations-of-Quantitative-Social-Science-Research Tags: quantitative methods, social science research, research methodology, computational social science, research design, open science, teaching materials
