Abstract

This systematic review aims to evaluate the diagnostic performance of ¹⁸F-fluorodeoxyglucose positron emission tomography (¹⁸F-FDG PET) and PET/computed tomography (PET/CT) for the detection and staging of Ewing sarcoma in pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients. The included population comprises individuals with suspected or histologically confirmed Ewing sarcoma undergoing imaging for initial diagnosis or disease staging. The performance of PET or PET/CT will be compared with conventional bone scintigraphy using ⁹⁹ᵐTc-labeled diphosphonates. The primary outcome of interest is the sensitivity of each imaging modality in detecting primary and metastatic lesions of Ewing sarcoma.
