Abstract

The integer 50 appears independently in six structures spanning four domains of physics and mathematics: atomic electron shell capacity (2×5² = 50), first partial quotient of the continued fraction of G = 1 − √2×ln(2), the Binary Tower step where accumulated cost reaches the ceiling, the square root of the first correction denominator (1/2500 = 1/50²) in the gap scaling formula, the 5th nuclear magic number (Tin, Z = 50), and DESI DR2 BAO cosmological distance ratios reproducing the 1/50² correction scale. These six appearances arise from six independent computations — none references the others. The convergence emerged from the 50 Hinge discovery (17 March 2026) and was verified across multiple AI architectures. Update — 13 April 2026: Tower-landmarks listing in §1 refined. The earlier "36–37 (Landauer crossing)" entry is replaced by the full 35–37 threshold-zone listing — Landauer crossing at n·G = ln 2 (n ≈ 35.11), geometric damping at n·G = 1/√2 (n ≈ 35.82), and Shannon bound at n·G = 1/(2 ln 2) (n ≈ 36.54). The factor-2 hinge at step 50 and all six independent appearances of the integer 50 are unchanged. Typography upgrade applied. The prior published version remains on OSF, renamed with the OLD- prefix and a date.
