FEDI: Fion-Enhanced Distributed Intelligence (GA 1.2.0) A Physics-Inspired Architecture for Epistemic AI
Abstract
Current AI systems lack epistemic coherence, leading to hallucinations and unstable reasoning. We present FEDI (Fion-Enhanced Distributed Intelligence), a distributed cognitive architecture where reasoning emerges from informational stability rather than statistical correlation. FEDI implements autonomous cognitive nodes—Fion Units (FUs)—that maintain stable knowledge states through mutual information coupling, redundancy minimization, and the Loop-5 Cycle: a five-stage epistemic validation process ensuring geometric consistency, spectral stability, and falsifiability. Grounded in the Fion Theory's \varphi-field formalism, the system treats information as a physical quantity from which coherence emerges naturally. On standardized reasoning benchmarks, FEDI reduces hallucinations by 75% compared to GPT-4 (0.8% vs. 3.2%) and achieves an epistemic coherence score of \varphi = 0.91 (vs. 0.73 baseline). This paper establishes a physics-inspired, interpretable, and reproducible foundation for next-generation artificial cognition. Full implementation and evaluation protocols will be released publicly.
