Abstract

This project aims to examine the relationship between nature contact and health eating behaviours, focusing on the mediation role of initiatory and inhibitory self-control. Specifically, we employs a experiment design to manipulate nature contact to investigate: 1) Whether nature contact significantly and positively predicts healthy eating behaviour; 2) The mediating role of initiatory self-control between nature contact and healthy eating behaviour, i.e., whether nature contact enhances healthy eating behaviour by promoting initiatory self-control. 3) Whether nature contact significantly and negatively predicts unhealthy eating behaviour; 4) The mediating role of inhibitory self-control between nature contact and unhealthy eating behaviour, i.e. ,whether nature contact decreases unhealthy eating behaviour by promoting inhibitory self-control.
