Time-dependent evolution of shockable rhythms in out-of-hospital cardiac arrest and its impact on defibrillation success: a scoping systematic review
Abstract
This project aims to synthesize evidence on the time-dependent evolution of shockable rhythms (ventricular fibrillation and pulseless ventricular tachycardia) in adult out-of-hospital cardiac arrest. The review will examine how time-to-defibrillation influences rhythm deterioration, defibrillation success, and survival outcomes. This scoping systematic review will follow the Joanna Briggs Institute methodology and PRISMA-ScR reporting guidelines. The findings are expected to provide critical insights into the temporal dynamics of cardiac arrest and inform future system-level interventions aimed at reducing delays in defibrillation.
