Curiosity Dimensions as Predictors of Constructive Deviance: The Moderating Role of Self-Control
Abstract
This study examines whether trait curiosity dimensions predict constructive workplace deviance beyond established personality predictors. Using the Five-Dimensional Curiosity Scale Revised (5DC-R), we test whether joyous exploration, deprivation sensitivity, stress tolerance, and social curiosity (overt and covert) predict constructive rule-breaking behaviors. We also examine whether self-control moderates relationships between drive-based curiosity dimensions and constructive deviance, and test domain-specific predictions for organizational versus interpersonal outcomes. Data will be collected from approximately 600 employed adults via Prolific.
