Implementing Evidence-Based Practice in Psychotherapy: A Delphi Study
Abstract
Evidence-Based Practice (EBP) is widely recognised as a foundational framework for high-quality psychological and psychotherapeutic care. Despite broad theoretical endorsement, the translation of EBP principles into routine psychotherapeutic practice remains inconsistent across professional contexts. This study aims to identify and prioritise key contents for implementing EBP in psychotherapy through a Delphi process involving accredited psychotherapists in Croatia from diverse psychotherapeutic orientations and professional backgrounds. By systematically mapping expert agreement on the most relevant and feasible components for EBP implementation, this study seeks to contribute to greater conceptual clarity and provide an empirically grounded foundation for future training, policy development, and implementation efforts in psychotherapy.
