Fear of Happiness and Valenced Emotion Goals in Daily Life
Abstract
The current study is a secondary analysis of data collected from Jose et al.'s (2024) daily diary study to investigate whether state-level general emotion regulation, as measured by the General Emotion Regulation Measure (GERM; Bloore et al., 2020), mediates the relationship between trait-level Fear of Happiness and daily affective states in a university cohort. Using multilevel modelling, the study will examine the extent to which fear of happiness predicts daily contra- or pro-hedonic emotion goal selection, which in turn predicts positively and negatively valenced affective states.
