Abstract

Active Session Defense (ASD) is an applied‑research initiative focused on developing a real‑time, user‑centric safety architecture for AI‑mediated communication. The project documents the system’s conceptual design, operational logic, and protective mechanisms that govern how ASD detects, interprets, and responds to high‑risk conversational states. This repository serves as the public, research‑grade record of ASD’s development. It includes the system architecture, behavioral models, theoretical foundations, datasets, documentation, and version history. Together, these materials provide a transparent view of the system’s evolution and the reasoning behind its design decisions. The goal of ASD is to establish a structured, defensible framework for understanding and managing active conversational risk, with emphasis on clarity, safety, and human‑aligned behavior. This project is intended for researchers, reviewers, collaborators, and practitioners interested in AI safety, interaction design, and applied system architecture.
