Reaching and Engaging Underrepresented Preschoolers and Families: Effective Strategies for Family-Based and/or Mobile Outreach Programs in Early Childhood Education
Abstract
This study will investigate how to support underrepresented preschoolers and families, who often do not participate in family-based and/or mobile-outreach educational programming due to systemic inequities, life challenges, and limited program awareness. Ultimately, this study aims to (1) assess the state of the literature on marginalization and underrepresentation in family-based and/or mobile-outreach early educational programming and (2) identify strategies to effectively outreach, promote, engage, and retain marginalized and underrepresented preschoolers and their families in family-based and/or mobile-outreach educational programs.
