Testing Temporal Association Between Planetary K-Index Storm Activity and Onset of Documented Physical Disturbance Events
Abstract
This pre-registered study investigates whether documented cases of anomalous physical phenomena — specifically poltergeist and physical-effect haunting events with independent documentation — occur at rates above chance expectation during periods of elevated geomagnetic activity. Using the planetary K-index (Kp) from the GFZ Potsdam archive, the study tests a predefined adjacency model (Kp ≥ 6 within a locked 72-hour window surrounding documented onset). All inclusion criteria, scoring procedures, statistical tests, and disconfirmation conditions were finalized prior to data collection. Results will be reported in full regardless of outcome.
